IRGC Navy Prepared for All Scenarios: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said his forces have practiced combat and defensive tactics at different levels and are prepared to counter possible threats.

The IRGC naval forces are prepared for confronting threats in different shapes at all levels, Rear Admiral Fadavi said Sunday in the southwestern city of Abadan.

He also pointed to the nonstop development of the IRGC Navy's defensive power and capabilities over the past years, noting that Iran has gained "considerable and reliable" might at the regional and international levels.

His comments came after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday praised the country's progress in the military and defense sphere, noting that such local achievements are among the best scientific and technological advances in Iran.

What makes Iran's military development "very extraordinary" is that they all have been achieved under pressures and unprecedented sanctions, the Leader said, stressing the need for the incessant and accelerated continuation of the progress.

The Leader also made it clear that rational logic as well as Islamic teachings, stipulated in the holy book Quran, dictate that defensive progress should go on.
