Syrian Forces Deal Hard Blows to Daesh Terrorists

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian warplanes along with army troops intensified their campaign against ISIL in various areas and struck heavy blows to the Takfiri militants across the Arab country.

According to a report by the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Saturday, the Syrian fighter jets conducted 151 sorties targeting 323 terrorist strongholds across the country over the past 48 hours demolishing seven Daesh command centers in the eastern outskirts of the major city of Homs.

The Syrian military planes also targeted the positions of the Takfiri terrorists near the city of Idlib, destroying two explosive production plants in al-Tamani’a and Maar Tarhrama areas, as well as two ammunition depots and a cluster of machinegun-equipped vehicles in the northern outskirts of the city of Hama in West of the country.

Elsewhere in Syria, the country’s ground troops inflicted heavy losses on the Takfiri groups in the provinces of Daraa, Sweida, Homs, Aleppo, and Lattakia as well as the Damascus countryside, leaving large groups of them dead and injured.

Syria has been entangled in civil war since March 2011. The ISIL Takfiri group now controls parts of the Arab country, mostly in the east.

In the past four and half years, more than 240,000 people have died in Syria -overwhelmingly civilians- and around 4 million Syrian people are now refugees in other countries. Around 8 million others have been displaced internally.
