Israeli Courts Extend Detention of 90 Palestinians

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli courts have extended the detention of 90 Palestinian prisoners, including several minors, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) said.

The PPS said the extension came on the grounds that the individuals need to go through further interrogations and legal procedures for their cases, Ma’an news agency reported on Thursday.

The PPS said that separate court sessions for the prisoners are expected to be held soon.

The types of charges each of the prisoners are being held under is not yet known.

Since the beginning of October, when the Israeli aggression against Palestinians saw a new surge, there has been a rise in the number of arrests, according to Addameer, a Palestinian prisoner support and human rights association.

Israeli forces arrested 416 Palestinians in the first 12 days of November, including 122 minors, the PPS reported earlier this month, while Addameer noted that in October alone, some 1,000 Palestinians, including 147 children, were kidnapped by Israeli troops.
