Iran Strongly Condemns Tunisia Terrorist Bombing

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned a recent terrorist attack that killed several people in Tunisia’s capital.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari also offered condolences to the Tunisian government and nation over the tragic incident.

He further said that such terrorist attacks "have targeted Tunisia’s stability, security, and achievements of its popular revolution."

Jaberi Ansari also hoped that Tunisia’s government and nation would safeguard the aspirations of country’s revolution by maintaining their unity and solidarity.

On Tuesday, a bomb blast ripped through a bus carrying presidential guards on the Mohamed V avenue in Tunis, killing at least 12 people and wounding 16 others.

The attack was likely caused by a bomber detonating explosives inside the vehicle, a presidential source said. No individual or group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing, which marked the first in the capital this year.
