Iran’s Tasisat Daryaei, Shamsaei Win Asian Football Awards

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Tasisat Daryaei of Iran was named the AFC Futsal Team of the Year at the AFC’s annual awards function.

In the ceremony held in New Delhi, India on Sunday, Tasisat Daryaei captain Vahid Shamsaei, 40, was also awarded the AFC Futsal Player of the Year.

Iran’s Tasisat Daryaei claimed the AFC Futsal Club Championship in August.

Ahmed Khalil of the United Arab Emirates was named the Asian player of the year.

The 24-year-old forward defeated compatriot Omar Abdulrahman of Al-Ain and Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder Zheng Zhi of China for the award.

AFC Asian Cup winner Australia was named the national team of the year while FIFA Women's World Cup runner-up Japan won the women's team of the year award.

Ange Postecoglou of Australia was voted the men's coach of the year while Asako Takura of Japan won it for women's teams.
