Israeli Air Raids Wound 4 in Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli airstrikes hit four targets in Gaza overnight, wounding four people, three of them children, medical and security sources said Thursday.
The Israeli army asserted that a major target of the strikes was suspected infiltration tunnels under the border.
The raid hit a garage, its owner Hassan Hasaneen told AFP, saying the vehicles that caught fire were not used by security forces but only for reconstruction works.
The Israeli army further claimed the overnight strikes targeted facilities reportedly run by the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas.
However, Hamas officials rejected the claim, saying the two raids targeted a base of the military wing of Islamic Jihad movement. No casualties were reported.
According to the latest reports, the Gaza Strip is still under fire by the Israeli military.
The Ezzedine Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has warned the Israeli regime to stop the attacks. Islamic Jihad also released a statement warning Tel Aviv against any escalation.
Israel continues to carry out attacks on the Palestinian coastal enclave from time to time.
In early July 2014, the regime launched a 50-day offensive against Gaza, killing nearly 2,200 Palestinians, including 577 children, and injuring Over 11,100 others.
