Iran Football Team Beats Macedonia in Friendly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian national football team (also known as Team Melli) defeated Macedonia in a friendly match on Thursday.
In the match held in Skopje’s Stadium, Sardar Azmoun netted a hat trick for Carlos Queiroz’s team.
Rostov striker gave the visiting team a lead in the 8th minute but Aleksandar Trajkovski equalized the match just after two minutes.
Azmoun scored once again in the 20th minute and completed his hat trick on the hour mark.
Iran will also play Kyrgyzstan on June 7 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Team Melli is preparing for the final Asian qualifying round for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where it has been pooled in Group A along with South Korea, Uzbekistan, China, Qatar and Syria.
