Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Bank to Come on Stream Next Year

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The joint bank of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan will become operational next year, the Central Bank of Iran’s chief said.

Valiollah Seif was quoted as saying by APA that the joint bank is supposed to begin operating next year.

“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev reached agreement on cooperation in banking sector. Moreover, constructive negotiations were conducted during the visit of chairman of Azerbaijani Central Bank Elman Rustamov to Tehran,” he told APA.

Back in February, Aliyev paid an official visit to Tehran, during which the two sides signed eleven Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements to promote mutual cooperation in a range of fields.
