Iraqis’ Mosque Hosts Fasting Muslims in Maryland (+Photos)

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Tasnim) – Imam Mahdi (AF) Education Center, a Shiite mosque built by Iraqis in Dickerson, Montgomery County, US state of Maryland, hosts fasting Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan each year.

According to Tasnim dispatches, Shiite Muslims in Maryland attend Iftar (fast-breaking) ceremonies in Imam Mahdi (AF) Education center in the holy month.

Established by some Iraqi Shiites living in the US, the mosque holds various Islamic gatherings and programs both in English and Arabic.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and a time when Muslims across the world fast during the hours of daylight.

Muslims’ holy book, the Quran, was first revealed to the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) during this month.
