Iran Loses to S. Korea at Asian Men’s Junior Handball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran lost to South Korea 29-27 in Group I of the 15th edition of the Asian Men’s Junior Handball Championship on Wednesday.

 Iran, who had already defeated Jordan (41-17) and Uzbekistan (37-22) in Group A and lost to Iraq 34-29 in Group I, will play Japan on Friday.

Iran will advance to semi-final if it defeats Japan with a good goal average and South Korea beats Iraq as well.

The competition kicked off in Amman, Jordan on July 22 and will run until August 1.

The 2016 Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship is the 15th edition of the Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship held under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation.

It also acts as the qualification tournament for the 2017 Men's Junior World Handball Championship which will be held in Algeria.
