Syrian Troops Kill over 60 Takfiri Terrorists in Aleppo

TEHRAN (Tasnim) –Syria’s army, backed by volunteer forces and military advisers, managed to inflict heavy losses on Takfiri terrorists in the northwestern city of Aleppo, killing nearly 70 militants.

According to the latest reports coming out of Aleppo, the Syrian forces killed 69 terrorists in heavy clashes with foreign-backed militants in an area southwest of the embattled city on Sunday.

In a separate development, the Syrian Air Force, backed by Russian warplanes, heavily pounded gatherings of Jaish al-Fatah terrorists in Idlib, al-Mansoora, al-Rashideen, and Khan al-Assal, west of Aleppo.

The bombings came after the terrorist group claimed earlier in the day that it had managed to open a crossing in eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo and that it was using it for a new operation.

However, it turned out later that Jaish al-Fatah had failed to use the crossing due to the Syrian army’s full control over the area.

Syrian Army troops, backed by voluntary forces, are fighting to recapture the strategic northern city from terrorist groups.

The security forces encircled Aleppo on July 17 after closing off the last terrorist-controlled route into the city.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it.

According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
