Vietnamese Parliamentary Delegation to Visit Tehran Soon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – President of the Vietnamese National Assembly’s Commission of Science, Technology and Environment is scheduled to pay an official visit to Tehran this week to hold talks with senior Iranian lawmakers and officials.

Heading a parliamentary delegation, Phan Xuan Dung will arrive in the Iranian capital on August 25.

During the 5-day visit, the Vietnamese lawmakers are planned to sit down with members of the country’s Parliament (Majlis) Education and Research Commission as well as Energy Commission.

Xuan Dung and his accompanying mission will hold meetings with officials of Environmental Protection Organization as well.

Iran’s parliament has in recent months intensified measures to strengthen ties with parliaments of the other countries after Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14, 2015 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran’s nuclear program and started implementing it on January 16.

The comprehensive nuclear deal, known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), terminated all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran.
