Iran’s Bank Sarmayeh Sweeps Malaysia at Asian Club Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Bank Sarmayeh of Iran swept past Malaysia 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-10) at the 2016 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship on Wednesday.

Bank Sarmayeh defeated Kazakhstan’s Altay VC 3-0 in its first match and will play Lo Kon Ting Volleyball Association from Hong Kong in its third match in Pool D.

Two top teams from each pool will advance to the quarter-final in Pools E and Pool F, while the teams finishing third and fourth in each pool will be relegated to the ninth to 16th classification round.

The final will be held on August 31. The awards presentation and closing ceremony will take place shortly after the final showdown.

Winner of the prestigious tournament will represent Asia at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship at Belo Horizonte and Betim in Brazil.
