IRGC Forces Arrest Dual National in Northern Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) force arrested an individual with dual Iranian-American nationality in the country’s northeastern province of Golestan.

According to the public relations department of the IRGC’s Neinava Base in Gorgan, the province’s capital city, the forces managed to identify the individual upon his arrival in the country in late July.

Later, following intelligence and security measures, the suspect was arrested and handed over to the province’s judiciary officials.

The report added the Iranian-American citizen has been detained on charges of cooperation with countries hostile to Iran, acting against national security, and having links with anti-revolutionary elements and media.

Back in August, Iranian intelligence forces arrested another dual citizen, who was linked to Britain’s foreign intelligence service MI6.

Prosecutor General of Tehran Abbas Jafari Dowlatabadi said at the time that the suspect had been active in areas related to economy and business activities.
