Iran’s NIOC, Russia’s Taftnet Ink Cooperation Deal

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Russia’s Taftnet group signed an initial agreement to cooperate over development of Dehloran oil field in western Iran.

The agreement was signed by Managing Director of the NIOC Ali Kardor and Tatneft Director General Nail Maganov, Sputnik reported on Sunday.

"As result of meetings held between the two companies earlier, a memorandum was signed. I hope that we will manage to make the follow-up steps in a more serious direction," Kardor said following the signing ceremony.

He added that there was also a chance for Tatneft to cooperate with Iranian companies and produce various types of equipment.

Iran sits on the world’s fourth-largest oil and second-largest gas reserves, and is among the world’s top 10 oil and top five natural gas producers.
