Great Interest in Cooperation with Iran’s Police: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A lot of countries have shown enthusiasm for cooperation with Iran’s Police given its capabilities and experience, Police Chief Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari announced.

Speaking at the opening of the 15th International Police, Safety and Security Equipment Exhibition (IPAS 2016) in Tehran on Monday, General Ashtari said Iran’s Police Force has gained a decent position by employing modern technologies and tapping into the local inventors.

Many countries have called for the exchange of information and training experiences with Iran’s police, known as a reliable and powerful force in the region, he added.

“Today, the Law Enforcement Force (police) is ready for any kind of cooperation with the friend countries,” the general noted.

Earlier this month, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called on the Iranian Law Enforcement Force to constantly boost capabilities and match them to rapid advances in science and technology.

Iran’s Police Force is in charge of ensuring security in the cities, on the roads and along the borders.

It has a broad range of responsibilities and includes several divisions, including cyber police, border guard police, traffic police, criminal investigation department, and a bureau for compulsory military service affairs.
