Trump Insists 'Accurate' Polls Show Him Defeating Clinton

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Republican US presidential nominee Donald Trump remains confident he will defeat Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the US presidential election next month, he told supporters in Florida on Monday, citing favorable opinion polls.

In most recent polls nationally and in electoral battleground states, Clinton has been leading Trump. In addition, strategists in both parties have begun making public predictions of a Clinton win on November 8.

“We're winning not only in Florida but we're going to win the whole thing,” Trump said at a rally in the city of St. Augustine “We're way ahead in Iowa, we're way ahead in Ohio [and] we're doing great in North Carolina.”

Trump cited an Investor’s Business Daily poll, which he described as the “most accurate,” that has him leading Democrat Clinton by two points nationally, according to Sputnik.

Trump said Clinton would have gotten nowhere in her campaign without biased coverage in her favor from much of the US media, members of which he labeled “thieves and crooks — not all of it but much of it.”

He also cited a revelation in a WikiLeaks-posted email involving Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta in which a Democratic consultant recommends manipulating polls by oversampling party voters who support Clinton.
