Army Inflicts Major Losses on Terrorists across Syria
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syria’s army, backed by volunteer forces, made major gains in its military campaign against terrorist groups across the Arab country, killing and injuring scores of them.
The Syrian Air Force on Saturday pounded positions and gathering centers of Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) and Jaish al-Fath terrorists in northern and eastern parts of Hama central province, inflicting heavy casualties on them in Taybet al-Imam, al-Latamina, al-Lahayia, al-Bouaida, Mourek, Latmin, al-Zalakiyat and Tal al-Mintar, Syria's official news agency SANA reported.
Also, the Syrian army troops targeted the positions of militants from the Jund al-Aqsa terrorist group and the Takfiri Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, formerly known as al-Nusra Front in the central province, leaving scores of them dead and injured.
Separately, the Syrian army units on Saturday morning carried out concentrated bombardments against hotbeds of al-Nusra militants in Dara'a al-Balad area, in southwestern city of Dara'a, killing dozens of them and destroying their vehicles.
Additionally, Syrian warplanes bombarded militant routes in the villages of al-Jeneh, al-Mansourah, Dahret Abed Rabbouh, west of 1070 Apartment Project, Khan al-Assal and al-Rashidin 4, Orum al-Kobra in the western and southern countryside of Aleppo province.
The army killed and injured scores of the terrorists and destroyed a number of their fortified positions and vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns in the embattled northwestern city.
Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it.
According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
