Iran Greco-Roman Team Runner-Up at Cadet World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - After three strong days of competition at the Cadet World Championships, Iran Greco-Roman team became runner-up at the competition.

Iran won two gold medals, one silver and two bronzes in the event and finished second with 50 points.

Russia claimed the title with one individual champion and six total medals.

Mohsen Fathollah Madhani claimed gold medal at the 58kg weight category. Mehran Saadatifard grabbed gold at 76kg category.

In the 63kg category, Mostafa Kayed Khordeh won the silver medal.

Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini seized the bronze medal at the 100kg category. Mohammad Nosrati also snatched the bronze medal at the 85kg.

The Cadet World Championship is a yearly event where the best Greco-Roman, Freestyle and Women wrestlers in the world aged 16 and 17 years old compete.

The championships brought more than 100 wrestlers from Iran, the U.S., Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia and other countries together at the Ano Liosia Olympic Hall in Athens, Greece.
