Scholars Invited to Attend Third KANS Scientific Competition

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Young scholars from Islamic nations have been invited to display their technological advancements at the third KANS (Knowledge Application and Notion for Society) scientific competition, which will be held later this year.

In order to increase cooperation, synergy, and uniformity in the field of science and technology, the Mustafa (PBUH) Science and Technology Foundation will hold the third KANS scientific competition in 2022. There will be 19 international pavilions there to address the current technological issues the Islamic world is facing.

The third round of the KANS scientific competition will be held with a special emphasis on the scientific community in the Islamic World and young scientists, who will be responsible for creating modern Islamic civilization in the future.

Young scholars, university students, and professors (under the age of 45) from Islamic nations will submit their scientific and technological innovations to the KANS competition secretariat in the form of concepts, research papers, books, prototypes, MVPs, or new products.

The competition's main focus this year is finding the greatest scientific and technological solutions to the issues the Islamic World is now facing.

In the following fields: agriculture and food industries, health and medtech, energy, water and environment, electronics and robotics, ICT and artificial intelligence, mining and mineral industries, the 2022 KANS competition will evaluate the works submitted by young scientists from the Islamic World.

By submitting 3 to 5 minute videos of their scientific and technological accomplishments or their responses to challenges set forth by worldwide institutes, young scholars can enter this competition through December 6, 2022.

Applicants can go to the website kans.mstfdn.org to complete the necessary documents and upload their recorded videos.

The assessment committee, made up of professors from several disciplines, will check and evaluate the submitted answers and scientific works during the selection process. The evaluation panel will then suggest 24 solutions and academic works.

The committee will select the top six solutions and scientific works on the competition's final day, which falls on the same day as the 12th International Innovation and Technology Exhibition in May 2023.

The secretariat of the KANS scientific competition has invited special pavilions in several disciplines of science and technology to participate in this event in order to utilize the full capacity of young scientists in solving problems.

Pavilions are national or worldwide scientific institutions from all over the Islamic world that have identified local problems and invited experts to find solutions.

KANS paves the way for effective contact between scholars and pavilions, bridging the gap between young researchers and academic institutions to address the issues outlined above.

Participants in the KANS competition 2022 may submit an accomplishment that addresses one of the problems posed by international institutes in the Islamic World. They can take part in the competition's free segment even if their work has nothing to do with any of the tasks specified.

Over 600 young technologists and researchers participated in the inaugural round of this competition in 2018 in the fields of Health, Energy, Economy, Water and Environment, and Information Technology.

With the participation of nearly 700 technologists and scientists from more than 20 countries, the second round of this competition was held in 2021 in the fields of Water, Environment and Energy, Health and MedTech, ICT, Economics, Banking and Finance, Transportation, and Mining and Mineral Industries.
