Iran, Portugal to Expand Cultural, Educational Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian vice president for parliamentary affairs announced submitting of a bill to the Parliament on “Cooperation Agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Portugal” in the fields of training, education, culture, sports, tourism and mass media.

Seyed Mohammad Hosseini made the remarks on Saturday and said the officials of the two countries have stressed the need to broaden their cooperation in these fields.

Highlighting the significance of the bill, he added, “Given the high interest of officials of Iran and Portugal to strengthen relations, the bill was submitted to the Parliament in order to promote and boost cooperation in the fields of language, training, culture, sports, tourism and mass media.”

Each side, according to the rules and regulations of their country, will also take necessary measures to facilitate the entry of their nationals into the other country, Hosseini stated.

This agreement is unique in its kind and can be used as a basis for managing the relations of Iran with other European countries, the vice president concluded.
