Iran’s Steel Exports Up 15% in 7 Months: ISPA

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) in a report said 7.1 million tons of steel and iron products were exported from the country in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, showing a 15-percent hike compared to same period of last year.

Iran’s export of steel products from March 21 to October 22, 2023, rose compared to last year’s corresponding period, the report added.

The 15-percent rise in the export of semi-finished steel and also four-percent growth in the export of steel products in the first seven months of the current Persian year, as compared to the same period of last year, were registered due to the sharp slump in the export of steel products last year (2022) as a result of imposition of export duties.

The Iranian Steel Producers Association said 7.1 million tons of steel and iron products, valued at $4.2 billion, were exported from the country between March 21 and October 22, 2023.
