TPOI Announces Details of Import, Export of Goods between Iran, EAEU

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) revealed the major import and export items between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) following the recently inked Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two sides.

The list of major import and export goods between Iran and EAEU in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 22 to November 22, 2023) indicates that pistachio with fresh shell, wheat and animal corn are the table topper in the export and import sectors respectively.

In this period, pistachio with fresh shell, polystyrene, ferrous and steel bars formed the bulk of products exported from Iran to the EAEU’s member states.

Iran exported $78, $62 and $43 million worth of pistachios, polystyrene and ferrous-steel products respectively to the  EAEU members in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year, Mehr news agency reported. 

In addition, Iran exported $32, $30 and $27 worth of oil bitumen, white cement and species of shrimps to the Eurasian market respectively from March 21 to November 22, 2023.

In return, Iran imported $465 and $149 million worth of normal wheat and animal corn respectively from the member states of the union.

Moreover, Iran imported $70 million worth of sunflower oil from the Eurasian market in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year.
