Iran, Burkina Faso Match Likely to Be Called Off
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A friendly match between Iran and Burkina Faso football teams, scheduled for Friday on Kish Island, will likely be called off.
The Iranian government has declared a day of national mourning over terrorist explosions in Iran's southern city of Kerman in which dozens of people lost their lives.
Two blasts occurred on Wednesday at an event held in Iran’s southern city of Kerman in commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of late commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, killing 84 people and injuring nearly 190 others.
The warm-up match was meant to serve as preparation for Team Melli in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, where Amir Ghalenoei’s team has been drawn along with the UAE, Palestine and Hong Kong.
