OPEC Offers Condolences to Iran over Kerman Terrorist Attack

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The secretary general of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) extended his deep condolences to the Iranian government and nation over the recent deadly terrorist attack in Iran’s southern city of Kerman.

In a message to Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Owji, OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais offered condolences to the government and people of Iran over the tragic terrorist attack in Kerman.

“All our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved and their families, with the Iranian people and with all those who are now tirelessly working to overcome the damages and harms caused by the appalling incident,” the Kuwaiti secretary general of OPEC said.

Twin blasts at an event held on January 3 in commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of late Iranian commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani resulted in the tragic loss of 85 lives and left nearly 300 individuals injured, with some in critical condition.

Daesh (ISIS or ISIL) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack on Thursday.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has warned that those behind the terrorist act will receive a severe response.
