Repairing Power Plant Equipment Saves Iran $200 Million: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The CEO of the Iran Power Plant Repairs Company (IPRC) said the high technical know-how of Iranian engineers and their skills in overhauling power plant equipment has saved the country $200 million in a year.

The country has no dependency on foreign countries in repair and maintenance services of thermal power plants, Masoud Moradi stated.

In addition to meeting the domestic demands, expert engineers of the country are currently exporting technical and engineering services to regional countries in the field of repairing power plant units, he stated.

In addition to winning the top rank in the Middle East in the field of repairing thermal power plant units, Iran has managed to be among the top five countries in terms of manufacturing power plant turbines in the world, he noted, IRNA reported.

He further said that the country is a leader in the field of exporting technical and engineering services to other countries.

Benefiting from the high technical know-how and expertise in rebuilding the power plants’ equipment, Iran has managed to prevent the capital flight of $200 million from the country, Moradi added.
