Iran’s Red Crescent Dispatches Teams to Aid Flood-Stricken Sistan and Balouchestan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Red Crescent Society of Iran has mobilized operational teams from other provinces to provide assistance in flood-hit southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan.

Mohammad Ali Kavosi, the head of the Red Crescent Society of South Khorasan, confirmed the deployment, stating, "10 Red Crescent operational teams from the province have been dispatched to Sistan and Balouchestan."

These teams, consisting of five members each, accompanied by a rescue vehicle, swiftly departed from the counties and headquarters of the Red Crescent Society of South Khorasan to aid those affected by the floods in Sistan and Balouchestan.

Meanwhile, IRGC Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour visited the affected areas of Sistan and Balouchestan, noting that the floods have caused significant damage to rural roads and communication routes.

Pakpour emphasized the ongoing rescue efforts by the IRGC and the Basij, stating, "Relief operations began as soon as the floods started in these areas."

He added that an initial assessment of the damages revealed the extensive impact on roads and communication routes, with efforts underway to reopen them promptly.

The governor is also present in the region to assess and determine the damages inflicted on the people, considering the severity of the situation.
