Akhlaghi Claims Gold in Dan Kolov and Nikola Petrov
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Habibollah Akhlaghi won the gold medal in the Dan Kolov and Nikola Petrov wrestling competition on Sunday.
The Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler defeated his Armenian rival in the final match of the 85kg weight category and won the gold medal.
Omid Norouzi snatched a bronze medal after beating his Turkish opponent in the 66kg Greco-Roman.
And in freestyle 65kg, Ali Asghar Jebeli defeated his countryman Meysam Heydari in the bronze medal match.
Earlier in the competitions, Afshin Biabangard had won a gold medal in 71kg Greco-Roman and Mostafa Salehizadeh won a bronze medal in 98kg.
Reza Atri in 57kg and Yadollah Mohebbi in 125kg freestyle had won silver medals for Iran.
The international tournament took place in Sofia, Bulgaria in the memory of Dan Kolov and Nikola Petrov is organized by the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation.
