TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukri, held talks on a host of issues, including ways to strengthen mutual cooperation between the two Muslim countries.

During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 2015 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in New York on Monday, the two sides hailed Iran-Egypt cooperation in the international arena.

Zarif and Shoukri also stressed the necessity to boost collaboration between the two countries’ delegations in the NPT review conference in a bid to adopt common stances on the international issues.

The two foreign ministers also exchanged views over the proposal to establish the Middle East free from nuclear weapons.
