Iran Launches First 'Air Hospital'
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Relief and Rescue Organization announced that the country has launched its first "air hospital" in a bid to provide quick relief services in times of crisis.
Speaking on Sunday, Naser Charkhsaz said an agreement has been signed between the organization and Mahan Air with the aim of promoting mutual cooperation and giving "quick and effective" responses in the process of providing relief services in times of crisis.
According to the deal, Mahan Air has agreed to give an airplane to the IRCS to set up the air hospital, the Iranian official noted.
Charkhsaz described the agreement as a great step towards improving relief services provided to people across the country.
Back in February, the Iranian defense ministry delivered its first domestically-made Bell-412 chopper to the Red Crescent Society.
Made by Iran Helicopter Support and Renewal Company (IHSRC), the chopper complies with all international and national aviation standards.
