Iranian Deputy FM Meets Bolivian, Mauritanian Delegations
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian held talks with visiting high-ranking delegations from Bolivia and Mauritania on ways to boost relations in diverse areas.
In a meeting in Tehran on Sunday, Amir Abdollahian and the head of Mauritania-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group exchanged views on a whole host of issues, including ways to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries and developments in the North African region.
In his remarks, Abdollahian touched upon commonalities between the two Islamic nations and stressed the need for further consultations between the Iranian and Mauritanian parliaments in the regional and international arenas.
In a separate meeting on Sunday afternoon, the Iranian deputy foreign minister and Bolivian Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Juan Carlos Alurralde praised the good level of ties between Tehran and Sucre and held talks on the most important issues in Latin America and West Asia.
In his earlier meeting with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for American and European Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi, the Bolivian diplomat had hailed Tehran’s capabilities in various industrial areas, including dam construction and irrigation projects.
He urged Iran to build small and medium-sized dams in Bolivia for agriculture, aquaculture, and power production purposes.
Alurralde also conferred with the Iranian official on the possibility of developing mutual cooperation in the field of medicine and medical equipment.
He made the official visit to the Iranian capital to attend the third round of Iran-Bolivia political consultations.
