Iran’s Fixture at 2024 Asian Junior Handball C’ship Announced

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran will meet China on July 15 in Group B of the 18th Asian Men’s Junior Handball Championship.

Iran will face Kuwait a day later.

The draw for the 18th Asian Men’s Junior (U-21) Handball Championship took place at the Jordan Handball Federation headquarters, located at Princess Sumaya Hall, Amman, Jordan.

Draw results:

Group A: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong-China
Group B: Kuwait, Iran, China
Group C: Jordan, India, Oman
Group D: Japan, Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, Qatar

The 18th Asian Men’s Junior (U-21) Handball Championship is scheduled to take place from July 16 to 27, 2024 in Amman, Jordan.

The championship will serve as a qualifying event for the 25th IHF Men’s Junior (U-21) Handball World Championship in Poland, scheduled for June/July 2025. The top four teams from this competition will secure qualification spots for the World Championship.

Japan enters as the defending champion, having won its maiden title in 2022. Notably, Japan and the Republic of Korea are the only teams to have participated in all seventeen previous editions of the championship. Additionally, Qatar has participated in sixteen editions, missing only one. Kuwait and Qatar are the record title holders, each having won the championship on five occasions. The Republic of Korea has won the most medals in the championship, totaling twelve, including three gold, six silver, and three bronze medals.
