Iran to Unveil New Air Defense Achievements

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A top military commander said the Islamic Republic of Iran’s latest achievements in the air defense field will be unveiled in the near future.

Addressing in a ceremony in Iran's northeastern city of Mashhad, Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaeili announced today that the base will unveil its “new radars and smart systems” on September 1.

He also noted that the country’s air defense will carry out fresh military wargames in October.

In similar remarks on July 8, Brigadier General Esmaeili had announced that Iran would unveil the mobile version of its indigenous S-200 air defense missile system in the upcoming military wargames.

In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.

Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
