Israeli Raid Kills Palestinians in West Bank

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli forces killed two Palestinians in the Qalandiya refugee camp in the occupied West Bank during a raid.

At least 15 others were wounded during clashes between the Israeli forces and Palestinians that erupted after the dawn raid on Monday.

Residents of the refugee camp, located north of Jerusalem (al-Quds), told Aljazeera that the situation was calm but very tense.

Israeli forces often enter Palestinian-administered territory to detain individuals.

Israel and the Palestinian Authority resumed US-brokered (so called) peace talks after a three-year halt last month.

However, both sides has not expressed much optimism for a major breakthrough.

Violence in the West Bank has escalated since the beginning of 2013. According to the UN figures, Israeli forces have killed 13 Palestinians there this year, most of them in clashes, compared with three killed in the same period in 2012.
