Commander: Iran to Continue Rejecting US Hegemony
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Iranian commander hailed Tuesday remarks by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei as a clear sign that resistance against the enemy and rejection of the US hegemony are integral parts of the country's policy.
One day after Ayatollah Khamenei laid out the policy of “heroic flexibility” in dealing with other countries, Commander of the Iranian Basij (volunteer) Force Brigadier General Mohamad Reza Naqdi said the remarks leave no doubt that in view of the Leader “resistance against the enemy and categorical rejection of the US hegemony in the world will continue (by Iran) with resolution."
“The trend of the Islamic Revolution’s continuous victories over the US in the region and in the global arena will go on,” the Iranian commander said on Wednesday, here in Tehran.
Ayatollah Khamenei stated on Tuesday that he approved of the policy of "heroic flexibility” in dealing with other countries.
Addressing a gathering of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders and veterans yesterday, the Leader said that he endorses “wise” and “correct” measures in domestic and foreign policies, adding, “I agree with what I called a few years ago ‘heroic flexibility’ because this move is very good on some occasions and is necessary, but only with commitment to a main condition.”
The main condition is to thoroughly understand the “nature” of the other side and its objectives, the Leader added.
Brigadier General Naqdi further described Iranians as a “vigilant and loyal nation”, and added that neither threats nor sanctions, imposed by the US or its affiliates can frustrate and dishearten the Iranian nation.
