Speaking in a televised interview, Salehi said Iran has unveiled a new state-of-the-art control room for its Tehran Research Reactor to mark its National Nuclear Technology Day, which falls on Farvardin 20 (April 9).

The Iranian official also emphasized that the establishment of the Tehran Research Reactor control room is another breakthrough in the country’s nuclear energy program.

Salehi also said that he has inaugurated an oxygen 18 production unit at Arak site.

He said Oxygen 18 which can be used in medical treatment, industry and environmental activities is produced in Iran for the first time.

The latest round of nuclear talks between delegations representing Iran and the G5+1 (alternatively known as P5+1 or E3+3), which began here in the Austrian capital on Tuesday morning, came to an end on Wednesday evening.

The negotiating parties are slated to convene the next meeting on May 13, again in Vienna, to start drafting the text of a final, long-awaited deal on Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.
