Iran’s Opponent Argentina Arrives in Brazil

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Group F powerhouse rival Argentina arrived in the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte amid a massive security operation on Monday night.

Lionel Messi and company were escorted from the airport to the team's hotel by a fleet of military and federal police cars, private security vehicles and ambulances.

The team will be based at the Cidade do Galo training center belonging to Atletico Mineiro.

"I can't do futurology. We didn't end up in the most difficult group. But we're playing against physically strong teams," Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella said.

"We'll try to advance from the group phase, and if we do, get there with our players in good condition."

Argentina will begin its World Cup Group F campaign against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana stadium on June 15. The team is scheduled to face Iran on June 21 and Nigeria on June 25.

Argentina has won the World Cup twice in 1978 and 1986.
