Match against Iran Is Nice, US Coach John Speraw Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - US coach John Speraw said that the friendly match against Iran is nice since it is a good chance for the players who didn’t get an opportunity in World League.
On Saturday, US volleyball team defeated Iran 3-1 (27-25, 25-21, 27-29, 25-17) in the first of four USA Volleyball Cup matches at the Galen Center at the University of Southern California.
Two teams will play three more friendly matches in preparation for the upcoming 2014 FIVB World Championship.
“I thought it was a tremendous environment for our guys,” US coach John Speraw told teamusa.org.
“I think it was nice for some of the guys who didn’t get an opportunity in World League to play in this kind of environment,” he added.
US will play Iran on August 13 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Two teams have been scheduled to play on August 15 at San Diego State University and will face together at the UC Irvine one day later.
