Mehmed Becirovic: Iran Won't Give Up against Serbia
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran basketball coach Mehmed Becirovic said that Serbia is favorite but they will not give up against them in the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
The Iranian outfit has lost to host Spain and Brazil in Group A of the competition.
Becirovic’s men are scheduled to face Serbia on Monday.
“We are still a few steps behind the European and American teams but we want to show the world that we're playing basketball in Iran,” the Slovenian coach said.
“Serbia is the favorite but we will not give up against them because we want to show we know how to play basketball,” Becirovic added.
"We will participate in the 2014 Asian Games right away after the World Cup and it’s important for us to win the gold,” Becirovic added.
