Ali Karimi to Come Out of Retirement: Report

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Karimi is recently participating in Persepolis trainings and media reports have speculated that he is going to come out of his retirement.

Karimi announced his retirement from football at age 36 in July despite having several offers from Iran’s premier league clubs.

Karimi, who has already played for Fath, Persepolis, Al-Ahli, Bayern Munich, Qatar SC, Al-Sailiya, Steel Azin, Schalke 04 and Tractor Sazi, has said he has no intention to return to football and he participated at the trainings since Persepolis coach Hamid Derakhshan has asked him to return to his ex-club.

Internationally, Karimi has been capped 127 times since making his debut in October 1998, and has scored 38 goals.
