Georgian Parliament Speaker Due in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Georgian Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili is slated to pay a visit to Tehran on December 4 to hold talks with Iranian officials on issues of mutual interest.

Heading a parliamentary delegation, Usupashvili plans to pay a 5-day trip to Tehran at the invitation of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.  

The Georgian delegation is scheduled to meet with Larijani as well as some other high-ranking Iranian officials to discuss a whole range of issues, including ways to promote parliamentary ties between the two countries.

Earlier on October 27, a 6-member delegation of Iran-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group paid a visit to Tbilisi.

During its 7-day trip to Georgia, the delegation met with the country’s senior officials and discussed ways to deepen ties in all areas, including in the spheres of economy, politics, tourism and agriculture.
