It’s Not 'Do or Die' Match, Naft Tehran Coach Mnsourian Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Naft Tehran coach Alireza Mansourian said his team will face a difficult showdown with Al-Shabab of Saudi Arabia but it’s not a do or die match.
The Iranian team will face Al-Shabab in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Wednesday in Group B of the AFC Champions League.
“We’ve analyzed Al-Shabab well and I have to say they are a powerful team. It will not be an easy match but I think it’s not a do or die match,” Mansourian said in the pre-match news conference.
“In my opinion, all four teams in Group B have an equal chance of progression to the knockout stage. We need three points and we are ready for this match,” he added.
Naft Tehran sits at the bottom of the table with just one point.
Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor topping the group with four points, two points clear of Al-Shabab and Al-Ain of the Emirates.
