Iranian, Emirati FMs Hold Phone Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a telephone conversation on Monday.
During the phone conversation, the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) congratulated Zarif on Nowruz, the Persian New Year, and whished success and prosperity for the Iranian people and government.
Sheikh Abdullah also offered his condolences to the Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, over the demise of his mother.
Over the past few days, several world leaders and international figures have expressed their condolences to Rouhani.
Back on Friday, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei also expressed condolences over death of Rouhani’s mother, Sakineh Payvandi.
The funeral of the deceased was held on Sunday in President Rouhani’s hometown, Sorkheh, at Iran's northern province of Semnan.
