Turkish President Due in Iran on Tuesday

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay an official visit to Tehran on Tuesday at the official invitation of his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, according to a joint press statement issued by Tehran and Ankara.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Erdogan is slated to meet with Rouhani and hold talks on issues of mutual interest, the statement said late on Saturday.

A meeting with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei is also on Erdogan's agenda, the statement added.

The second session of Iran-Turkey High Cooperation Council is also planned to be held with the cabinet members of the two countries in attendance.

At the session, the two sides will discuss a whole host of issues, including Tehran-Ankara bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues.
