Wrestler Ehsanpoor Hails Iranian Fans in World Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian wrestler Behnam Ehsanpoor said that he was boosted by a huge crowd of fans at the Forum, Los Angeles.
Iran defeated USA 5-3 at the Forum in Los Angeles and won 2015 Freestyle Wrestling World Cup.
“We see more Iranians here in Los Angeles than any other city,” said Iranian 61kg wrestler Behnam Ehsanpoor. “The crowd helped me 100 percent. It’s like wrestling in Tehran.”
The 61kg wrestler came from behind 5-0 to beat 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Coleman Scott 9-7.
“It was good wrestling,” said Ehsanpoor. “Scott is an Olympian and I really, really worked hard to get here.”
“The biggest help during the match was the tips my coach gave me. He was watching and made important tips to me on how to change my wrestling. The coaching was important and made the difference,” he added.
