IRGC Vows Crushing Response to Hostile Threats

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) warned enemies that any possible aggression against Iran will result in the country’s countermeasure proportional to the level of the threat.

Any threat made by the adversaries will prompt the IRGC and the whole Iranian Armed forces to respond decisively, proportional to the level and type of that threat, and will make the foes regret, the IRGC said in a statement issued in Friday on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of a failed US operation in Tabas Desert, east of Iran.

The statement also reaffirmed Iran’s “full intelligence dominance” over the moves by the trans-regional forces, the US in particular.

It also cautioned the aggressors that any “strategic mistake” in taking military action against Iran will definitely make them bite the dust.

On April 25, 1980, the US launched Operation Eagle Claw in an attempt to rescue Americans held in the Iranian capital of Tehran after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

However, a sandstorm struck and brought down the US helicopters involved in the operation, killing eight American servicemen.

The US Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps were all involved in the operation.
