Iran, Iraq Sign Joint Communique for Closer Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – High-ranking officials from Iran and Iraq signed a joint communique as part of efforts to boost cooperation between the two neighboring countries in various areas.

It was signed during a meeting between Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei and Iraqi Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Muhammad Shia al-Sudani in Baghdad on Tuesday.

During the session, the two sides emphasized the need for exchanging experiences and boosting cooperation in diverse areas related to the workforce of the two countries.

The development of cooperation in labor inspection, occupational safety and health protection, unemployment insurance, and joint efforts to reduce work-related accidents are among the issues mentioned in the joint communique.

Heading a senior delegation, Rabiei arrived in Baghdad on Monday evening to meet with a number of Iraqi officials and hold talks on issues of mutual interest.
