Iran Coach Kovac Predicts Difficult Matches against Poland

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian national volleyball team head coach Slobodan Kovac expected his team will play two difficult matches against Poland in the 2015 FIVB World League.

Poland will host Iran in Czestochowa on Friday and Saturday in Pool B while the United States and Russia will play at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach.

"We are so happy to be here and play in a volleyball country like Poland. I expect two difficult matches because Poland is playing so strong at home,” Iran coach Kovac said in the pre-match news conference.

“Poland has changed something in the squad. They have some new young and interesting players and this is difficult for us."

"We have to play good volleyball and try everything to win. Playing here - where people understand volleyball - is always a pleasure," the Serbian coach added.

In Pool B, the United States lead the way with six points after sweeping Iran in Los Angeles over the weekend. Poland also beat Russia twice in Gdansk but earned only five points. Russia is in third spot with one point while Iran is at the cellar.
