Yemeni media reported on Saturday that Saudi warplanes hit the northern province of Sa’ada more than 15 times; three civilians also sustained injuries in an attack on Hajjah Province.
Separately, the Saudi military fired 15 rockets at the Razeh region of Sa’ada. There is still no word on casualties. Reports also said that strikes have targeted two military bases in Sa’ada and the southern province of Lahij.
In retaliation, the Yemeni army and its allied forces struck several military bases in Saudi Arabia’s southern province of Jizan on the border, destroying a military vehicle as well as two loaders.
Earlier, a Saudi soldier was killed in Yemeni retaliatory rocket fire in Jizan, Press TV reported.
Yemeni forces launch such attacks in retaliation for Saudi strikes, which started on March 26.
The aerial attacks, which were launched without a UN mandate, are meant to weaken the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.
