Larijani Slams Certain Countries’ Role in Muslim Nations’ Crises

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani censured certain countries in the Middle East for their warmongering polices, saying their main mission is to fan the flames of turmoil in Muslim nations.

“What we see in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and many (other) Islamic countries are (the flames of) the fire originating from a divisive current,” Larijani said in a speech on Sunday.

He added that the divisive countries in the region are deliberately fanning the flames of discord among Muslims.

Since June 2014, Iraq has witnessed a fresh wave of violence after militants from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group took control of large swathes of the war-stricken country.

Syria has also been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with Takfiri terrorists from various groups, including ISIL, currently controlling parts of it.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani pointed to the successful conclusion of nuclear talks between Tehran and six world powers, saying that the Iranian nation showed resistance and forced the West to accept the Islamic Republic’s uranium enrichment right.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion on a lasting nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.

The 159-page deal has its own opponents and proponents both in Iran and the other countries that are parties to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), particularly the US.
